Pregnancy doesn’t mean you have to stop exercising, in fact exercising throughout your pregnancy will mean you are fit and healthy for delivery and the demands of motherhood!
However it can be scary knowing what to do/not to do during pregnancy and this is where I can help.
I will work with you at every stage of your pregnancy to make sure you are exercising and eating in the most optimal way for you and your baby.
I will choose exercises specifically for you that will prepare the body for physical challenges of each trimester, improving posture and reducing lordosis/lower body pain, maintaining the pelvic floor and core function, improving circulation and reducing the risk of varicose veins, aiding recovery from birth, maintaining muscle strength and tone, releasing tightness and promoting relaxation through breathing.

You’re cleared, now what?
Firstly, being cleared at your 6 week check up with the GP does not mean your body is ready to return to your pre-baby workout routine.
Secondly, here are some facts...
- More than two thirds of women develop diastasis recti, a separation of the abdominal muscles, during pregnancy.
- More than 60 percent of second-time moms experience pelvic floor dysfunction, such as incontinence or pelvic pain.
- Performing sit-ups, crunches and planks postpartum can prevent your abdominal muscles from healing and contribute to a “mummy tummy.”
Dysfunction of the pelvic floor and/or abdominal muscles can lead to imbalances and injuries elsewhere in the body.
Nine months of dramatic physical changes can leave your body feeling overweight, tired and out-of-shape.
I am here to create for you an effective exercise program that will safely address your unique physical needs, as a postnatal mum. I will teach you the proper breathing, alignment, movement patterns and exercises that work to improve diastasis recti, pelvic floor dysfunction and common post partum aches and pains. The aim to get you feeling strong, lean and energised whilst keeping you motivated and supported every step of the way.

I have first hand experience of being a competitive athlete. I have raced triathlon for Great Britain at Olympic, Ironman 70.3 and full Ironman distances across the world. I have raced 8 full distance Ironman events and many many Ironman 70.3 events, including podium finishes and World Championship finishes in both Kona and Tampa Bay. I have also taken part in many 'mud run', cross country, 5km, 5mile, 10km and half marathon running races. Plus cycling races ranging from 10mile time trials and 100+ mile sportives through to multi-day touring trips. I understand the requirements and I can appreciate the barriers, but ultimately I can help you to perform better!
All of us have specific needs as athletes and they can be established by breaking down the factors unique to our sport or activity e.g. movement patterns, tempos, volumes and loads.
I will create a very specific training plan based on these factors. Once the training plan has been created to fit in with your requirements, this scientific form of overload, adaption and progression ensures a better prepared athlete at the end.
